Risk Management

All departments have the same problems and concerns involving the inherent risks that face the law enforcement professional:

Officer and civilian safety
Public opinion and scrutiny
If there is a lawsuit –  WIN
If you dont win, lose small!

All officers have three battles when using force:

1.    The mental battle with himself or herself about what to do, how to do it, when to do it, how to explain it and how to live with it

2.    The physical battle with the suspect (easiest of the three because most officers understand this and most training focuses on this portion)

3.    The battle of justification with their administration, the public, and the court system.

This course is designed to get administrators and line officers on the same page so everyone can be safe and justify their actions. Working in law enforcement for over a quarter of a century and rising from patrolman to sergeant Mike Guido understands the only way this can be accomplished is through training and communication.

During this course recent case law and training standards will be reviewed and model policies and procedures will be discussed.

At the end of this eight hour course, each student will receive a certificate of completion from MG Tactical Advantage.
